Parasect card – the mushroom that torments Confused Pokémon
This Japanese Parasect card 003/173 (パラセクト / Parasect) comes from sm12a Tag All Stars (2019), the “high class” set that closes the Sun & Moon era – this card reprints the one from Team Up (007/181). Satoshi Shirai, a specialist in rendering volume, has it emerge from a mossy burrow, claws forward. The bug is practically dead: it is the mushroom on its back that controls it, the Pokédex reveals. Its Ability punishes Confused Pokémon every turn.
Parasect card specifications
- Stage 1 Pokémon (evolves from Paras), Grass type, 100 HP
- Ability: put 2 damage counters on your opponent’s Confused Pokémon between turns
- Attack: 30 damage; flip a coin, and if heads, your opponent’s Active Pokémon is now Confused
- Number 003/173, illustration by Satoshi Shirai, ©2019
In combination with its Ability, Pokémon that cause Confusion without a coin flip are ideal: the Gothorita (mind-control attack) and the Reuniclus (mental-shock attack) in the shop. Among the Grass-type bugs, Wurmple is on the shelves.
Also worth a look in the shop: budget-friendly Japanese cards.
