Staryu card – Yuka Morii’s clay starfish
This Japanese Staryu card 001/020 (ヒトデマン / Staryu) comes from the sPD Deoxys VSTAR & VMAX High Class Deck (2022), a box that remained exclusive to Japan. It is signed by Yuka Morii, the artist who sculpts her Pokémon in clay before photographing them: the starfish is set on a beach of wet pebbles. At the end of summer, groups of Staryu can be seen glowing in rhythm on the beaches, the Pokédex tells us.
Staryu card specifications
- Basic Pokémon, Water type, 60 HP
- Attack: flip 2 coins, 10 damage for each heads
- Number 001/020, illustration by Yuka Morii, ©2022
Its evolution is in the shop: the Starmie holo from Pokémon 151. The Basic Water Energy will power its attacks.
