Wimpod card – the beach bug and champion of hide-and-seek
This Japanese Wimpod card 009/062 (コソクムシ / Wimpod) comes from sv3a Raging Surf (2023), the crashing-wave expansion, released in the West as part of Paradox Rift. Shigenori Negishi catches the giant sea slater on the wet sand, antennae alert – legendarily cowardly, it scuttles off at the first sign of danger, yet it cleans beaches of litter so well that it is gladly left there, the Pokédex tells us. Its hiding attack fits the character perfectly.
Wimpod card specifications
- Basic Pokémon, Water type, 70 HP
- First attack: flip a coin; if heads, during your opponent’s next turn, prevent all damage from and effects of attacks done to this Pokémon
- Second attack: 20 damage
- Rarity C, number 009/062, illustration by Shigenori Negishi, ©2023
In the West, it joined Paradox Rift alongside the Doublade from this same shipment and the Mienfoo already in the shop – three different Japanese sets, a single Western expansion.
Also worth a look in the shop: budget-friendly Japanese cards.
