Gulliver amiibo card no. 314 – Animal Crossing Series 4
The Gulliver amiibo card is number 314 of Animal Crossing card series 4. Gulliver is the seagull in a sailor’s outfit whom players meet again from game to game, washed up and asleep on the beach: you have to wake him by talking to him over and over, then help him find the five pieces of his communicator buried in the sand. As a thank-you, he sends a souvenir from his travels the next day – a moai statue, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Statue of Liberty, Russian dolls. On the Japanese card his name is written ジョニー, taken from the English word journey.
Two cards for the same character
Gulliver exists as no. 314 (series 4) and as no. 418 (series 5), with different artwork. The one offered here is indeed no. 314, the one where he poses in a blue sailor’s jacket and sailor’s beret.
Japanese only concerns the printing
The NFC chip is universal: amiibo cards are not region-locked. This one scans on a French Switch exactly as on a Japanese Switch, and the game displays the character under his usual name, Gulliver – the same in French and English – in the language of your console. As series 4 is no longer reprinted in Europe, the Japanese version remains the most accessible way to complete it.
What card no. 314 does
Gulliver is an SP (special character) card: unlike villagers, he cannot move onto your island. In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, scan him in Photopia to invite him to a photo shoot, and in the Happy Home Paradise expansion to have him visit as a client and design his holiday home. The card also works with New Leaf – Welcome amiibo, where it brings his camper van and his exclusive beach furniture.
