Sword (s1W)
Sword (s1W) Expansion: All the Japanese Pokémon Cards
Released in Japan in 2019, the Sword (s1W) set is a main expansion from the Sword & Shield era. It opens the Sword & Shield era with its twin Shield, built around Zacian V and the first Pokémon V and VMAX. The official card list has 60 cards, plus the secret rares numbered beyond 60.
Its cards were released in the West in Sword & Shield, but with different numbering and sometimes a different distribution. For collectors, the Japanese version of Sword remains the reference, with a much-admired holographic finish.
Its twin set Shield (s1H), released on the same day, is a natural addition to the collection. In Japanese release order, the previous set available in the shop is Tag All Stars (sm12a), and the next one is VMAX Rising (s1a). You can also find all the Sword & Shield sets on our dedicated page.
At Cartes Japonaises, every Sword card is sold individually and photographed as it is: you see exactly the copy that will be shipped, in a sleeve and top loader. Cards from Sword that have already passed through the shop include Professor’s Research (Professor Magnolia), Toxicroak and Sudowoodo.
